There are different sorts of doughs like pizza dough, play dough, cookie dough etc. Here you will find recipes of these three types. The first is basic pizza dough.
Pizza dough:
This is a real quick and easy way of pizza dough and a couple of ways to do it just right. The ingredients you need are; two cups of all purpose bread flour, one egg, one teaspoon of sugar, half teaspoon of salt, half teaspoon of instant yeast(this is for thin crust but if you want to make medium to thick crust make it one and a half teaspoon), luke warm water about 2-3 cups and 3 tablespoons of olive oil. You don't have to mix the yeast in water first, it works this way as good as with the water that's why it is called instant yeast. If you have got all the things, all you need to do is to mix it now. Follow the process and your dough will be just perfect. Take a big bowl and put flour in it. First add the dry ingredients, sugar, salt and yeast. Before adding other things mix well with a spoon. Now add egg and water. Don't add whole water in one go, add little bit and mix the ingredients. Add olive oil and knead it with your fingers. If the dough is sticky, you can add some dry flour in it. Knead it for 15 minutes and then spray it with oil and cover the bowl with plastic cover. Leave it on room temprature for an hour at least. The more time you give the dough, the more it will rise. After the dough is fully risen, you can make your pizza according to your taste.
Cookie dough: To make cookie dough, start with your ingredients on room temperature. Begin with your cream butter (50 grms) at the bottom of the bowl and add one tablespoon of sugar. Begin combining the with an electric beater fitted with a whisk. This process is called creaming. Creaming is the most important step in cookie making because it incorporate air into the mixture and keeps the cookies from becoming tough. At first you will notice a change in the mixture but you are looking for a pale yellow smooth and fluffy mixture, it will take 5 minutes. Continue blending, add vanilla essence about 1 teaspoon, add one egg and mix the ingredients well. Add salt and gradually add flour (2 cups) little by little. It's important to work quickly and not over mix the dough. Over working the flour in the dough will make the cookies tough. When the mixture looks nice and even and homogeneous, gather the dough with your hands into a bowl. It should feel sticky, not wet and not too crumbling. Take good care not to over work the dough. Do not knead it, just gather the dough and press it a little like a disk and then wrap it in a plastic wrap. Wrap it tightly, pressing any air out of the plastic wrapper and put it in a fridge. The dough will be ready in about an hour when it's chilled. Play dough: Put one cup of pine flour into a saucepan, one cup of water and ¾ cup of salt. It seems to be a lot but it needs it. Add one tablespoon of vegetable oil and one table spoon of cream of tarter. Cook it on a very low heat while stirring it continuously. At first it will be wet but keeps stirring it until it forms into a thick dough. Now place the dough onto a wooden board and knead it while it's still warm. Break up your dough into four pieces and add food colours of your choice in each piece of dough. Mix the clours until it's evenly spread. Now the dough is ready for your children to play. |
